Engineering Manager / Mechanical Engineering Lead is required in Southampton. The role is looking for a candidate with experience in Mechanical Design, Man Management and NPI. You will be experienced in Man-management and have vast knowledge of electronic products with an emphasis on design.

Working for a fast growing and to become a leading supplier of innovative solutions. Industries include Motorsport, Defence, Aerospace and Meteorology. You will be involved in the full product lifecycle, from initial research through full production development.

Position Summary

This is a demanding role with a primary focus on leading engineering projects from concept to delivery. An important focus is the management of the mechanical engineering skill group, with a strong emphasis on developing individuals' skills.

Responsible for all mechanical engineering aspects of new and existing sensor and instrumentation products

Plan, lead and project manage a number of cross functional sensor product developments

Leadership of the mechanical engineering skill group

Writing technical proposals and preparing quotations for new product developments.

Position Requirements

You must be qualified to degree level in engineering and must have achieved a 2.1 or higher.

You must have experience working in a closely related engineering environment (sensors, instrumentation, data loggers etc)

Extensive experience in project management / product management

Proven commitment to continual development of personal skills

Knowledge of electronic instrumentation or electronic sensing techniques
