About this Role:

Experienced/ambitious Site Manager required towork with the Project Manager on a £15m new build student accommodation scheme in Southampton, Hampshire.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all site based construction activities, including coordination of trade subcontractors, short-term programming of works, health and safety, review of method statements, risk assessments, call off of materials, logistics, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, reporting on progress against program, etc, snagging and handover.

This is a technically challenging project, and would suit a Site Manager from an engineering background, especially initially in the groundworks, piling and structural stages for the two steel framed multi-storey blocks.

The project enabling works have commenced on site, and it runs late summer 2017.

About the Company/Client/Project:

The contractor is the regional office of a busy national main contractor with a £50m annual turnover, and a proven track record in the delivery of new build and refurbishment schemes in the commercial, care home, retail and student accommodation sectors.

Requirements including certificates and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management, communication and communication skills. Proven track record of work for a top twenty main contractor advantageous.

Ideally from an engineering / construction engineering management background with a sharp eye for detail, you will possess strong planning and problem solving ability, with a positive, 'get it right first time` approach.

You will possess your SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
