Our client is a specialist architectural metalwork and glazing contractor who are looking for a Junior Project Manager to join their expanding team. They are a tight knit group of enthusiastic engineers and this is the first role of its kind within the company. The ideal candidate will come with a strong architectural metalwork background, he or she will be looking for more responsibility and will have an interest in Health & Safety, as demonstrated by holding IOSH certification. Reporting to a senior Project Manager they will assist in delivering projects up to the value of £2m.
Our client works in the field of mass passenger transport, which requires high specification finishes and fittings that are designed to meet the rigorous requirements that mass passenger traffic places on buildings and their interior cladding and structures.
They have recently been awarded a 5 year framework agreement as a nominated contractor for ceilings and metalwork.
Besides all of this: They have been established for over twenty years. They have an extremely low turnover of staff, with the majority of staff having been with the company for over ten years. They have an enviable reputation in the design, supply and installation of architectural metalwork and glazing. And they are known industry wide as problem solvers and innovative designers.
Your key duties and responsibilities will include;
Assisting in the programming, planning and method statements for installations.
Direct site staff safely, efficiently and pro-actively including on-site labour.
Assist in the delivery of all projects allocated on time.
Encourage increased company growth vis repeat business, developing relationships with new and existing clients
To ensure health and safety implementation and management of every project within your control.
To assist with ensuring material orders are in place and that delivery allocations maximise productions on site.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Let's address the elephant in the room: This role will be challenging! The demands of the projects to be worked on are stringent in terms of timescales, quality, documentation, health & safety and financial constraints.
They work almost exclusively on Crossrail and TfL projects, so if you have worked in these environments and are familiar with the procedures and policies of these organisations then your application will be warmly welcomed!
So the ideal candidate will have the following;
Steel, architectural or fabrication knowledge and experience.
Currently working for sub-contractor or having a sub-contractor background
Experience working on TFL and/or Crossrail schemes
First Aid qualifications
An attractive daily rate is available for this assignment.
