The Company

My client is one of the UK's leading main contractors who have built award winning developments in multiple sectors such as Commercial, Residential, Healthcare, Education and Leisure.

My Client is looking for an experienced package manager to work on a number of projects within the London area.

The Role

Assist Project Management throughout the value management process to maximize the financial benefit of the design
Develop the long list of tenderers for the project
Support the delivery teams in all aspects of facade engineering including design development, procurement and construction.
Manage changes to engineering design whilst being mindful of budgetary requirements.
Assist Quantity Surveyors, Commercial/Procurement Managers to prepare sub contract packages.
Maintain awareness of contractual obligations of both the head contract and sub contract.
Act as a conduit of communicating relevant information as appropriate to consultants, authorities, site supervisors, construction workers and sub-contractors.
Drive performance by setting standards, objectives and holding people accountable for meeting them.
Assist the management team to create and implement the Project Management Plan.
Co-ordinate the activities of design management and provide a link between the design and construction to ensure the buildability of a design.
Review design to assess and ensure its compliance with requirements of regulatory authorities.
Assist with the integration of services and design co-ordination during project planning.
Undertake programming, planning and forecasting to ensure construction activities take place within overall construction program.
Monitor progress, identify and report on issues that may affect the program.
Provide regular reports to Project/Construction Manager, head office and clients via Project/Construction Manager.
Ensure that sub-contractors meet all the BMCE requirements before commencing on site (e.g. QITP in place, pre-start meeting held, H&S requirements are met)
Hold at least weekly sub-contractor meetings to discuss H&S, Quality, Programme, Design etc. Minute and ensure the minutes are distributed.
Ensure quality assurance processes and standards for a construction project are adhered to.
Inspect the work of sub-contractors for technical compliance and quality of work and ensure benchmarks are established and agreed with the Employer in good time so as not to effect the progress of the main works.
Assist project management to develop and implement a site safety plan with particular focus on identifying particular OH&S hazards.
Contribute to improvement to existing designs
Manage and resolve all engineering issues as they are raised by clients, authorities, management and project staff.
Key Roles this position interacts with on a regular basis: Project staff, Regional Construction Director, Construction Manager, Project Manager, Design Manager, Estimating, QA Manager, Suppliers, Consultants, Regulatory Bodies, Councils, Industry Bodies, Sub-Contractors and the Client.
Qualifications and additional experience:
HND or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field include Building, Engineering, Construction and Quantity Surveying.
Experience working on £50M plus Residential or Commercial projects.
