Our Northampton based Client are currently looking for a Project Engineer to join their existing team on a permanent staff basis.

The Role

The Project Engineer will be working as part of the Delivery Team in a role which will involve enabling projects to be delivered with respect to technical specifications, client needs and the needs and regulations of other stakeholders. The role includes receipt of needs from the Client (primarily planned), development of least Whole Life Cost (WLC) solutions and ensuring solutions are up to all required standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Emergency work

Support Delivery Manager in the delivery of Emergency work in times of high workload or resources shortages

Provide regular updates on progress to the Programme Mer and other key internal and external stakeholders

Ensure "Project Diary" for work is kept updated on corporate systems and capture outputs in the systems

Support the capture of asset changes (decommissioning, alteration, creation) in the relevant corporate systems

Planned work (Rolling programme and standalone)

Receive data and assessments of risk associated with planned needs and challenge it to establish clear cost and risk benefit proposition

Develop projects in accordance with the agreed governance of the IOS Process and the Core Capital Delivery Process

Create modelled solution within Asset+ giving the Final Business Plan (FBP) cost and carbon baseline

Lead the completion of Root Cause Analysis where appropriate

Lead optioneering where appropriate

Comply with the corporate Risk and Value Process

Calculate Risk Index to ensure the data and process are robust and auditable

Receive prioritised projects

Develop solutions in line with corporate governance processes

Ensure standard products and other technical standards (e.g. minimum asset standards) are adhered to

Support the capture of outputs and asset changes in the relevant corporate systems

Ensure customer management e.g. needs, system and cost requirements

Manage external stakeholder and internal operations liaison

Ensure engagement, planning and resource scheduling

Take responsibility for capturing all data and ensuring accurate reporting

Person Specification:

The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:

Operational water experience

Basic understanding of the regulatory processes that govern AW's IOS Initiative Knowledge and experience of customer and external stakeholder management, planning and resource scheduling

Educated to A-level or equivalent

Appropriate professional engineering qualification Contract management skills

Capital budget management skills

Strong negotiating skills

Strong cost and risk based analysis skills

Good communicator, able to communicate detailed data to a non-data literate audience

Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage/prioritise workloads

Ability to adapt and challenge
