Our client, one of the UK's leading Environmental and Health & Safety consultancies, currently has immediate vacancies for experienced Asbestos Consultants.

Carrying out the role you be will be responsible for undertaking asbestos surveying and/or asbestos analytical works and be required to ensure that all contracts are carried out safely and in accordance with all policies, procedures, legislation and guidance, including HSG 264 and HSG 248. Our client operates an Integrated Management System which fully sets out the procedures which you would be required to follow and is supported by PDA and data collection technologies.

The ideal candidate will have -

At least one year full time practical field experience on asbestos surveys as lead surveyor. The experience should cover property sectors including industrial, commercial and domestic and should cover management surveys and refurbishment and demolition surveys.

Experience in all aspects of survey work including survey planning, resources, technical specification, quality control and ACM assessment criteria.

Knowledge of asbestos products (e.g. their nature, uses, hazards, sampling techniques etc) and also knowledge of building construction, construction methods, fire protection and the various uses of buildings.

At least one year full time practical field experience in asbestos analytical works, including four stage clearance.

Be fully aware of;

- the health effects of exposure to asbestos fibres

- methods to reduce the risk when working with asbestos

- safe handling and use of chemicals

- ergonomic issues and requirements

- health and safety procedures

- selection, fitting, wearing and care of respiratory protective equipment.

- use of PPE.

The successful candidate will be qualified to BOHS P402, P403, and P404 as a minimum, hold a full clean drivers licence and be prepared to undertake a full DBS check.
