We are currently recruiting for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor within the Infrastructure Services Sector at our Doncaster (Carcroft) site.|
Reporting to the Commercial Director and supported by the Commercial Team, you will primarily assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in managing the companies' commercial processes.
Contribute towards the effective financial and commercial performance of the Business Unit and support the Group advising on contractual obligations.
Assist in the tender review process, input into the application for payment process and the closing out of final accounts.
Undertake tasks as instructed by senior commercial members.
Assist in the tender process in identifying risks and potential contractual issues.
Assist in the monthly application for payment [AFP] process to ensure all AFP's are issued in accordance with the contract stipulations.
Input into the credit control processes and interaction with Employers/Clients to ensure receipt in a timely manner of Payment Certificates.
Assist the Operations Teams in the effective management of the commercial aspects of projects; including the implementation of the Change Management process [Compensation Events/Variations].
Close out measurement, valuation queries in a timely manner.
Assist with the valuation of claims and effectively communicate with the Operations Team to ensure accurate records are maintained.
Essential and desirable skills, competencies, experience
Working knowledge of various standard forms of contracts, particularly ICC & NEC Suite of Contracts.
Ability to understand and identify risks within Bespoke Contracts.
Working knowledge about the provisions of the Construction Act relating to Notices.
Ability to draft key notices including Early Warnings and Notifications of Compensation Events.
Time Management: ability to focus on set tasks and accommodate new tasks.
IT Skill: Excel, Word. Training given on specific company finance software.
A full driving licence is essential.
Travel to our Glasgow and Deeside sites is a requirement of this role
