Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor|
Lamonby recruitment are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Quantity surveyor to work for a contractor that specialising in delivering complex construction and fit out projects, often containing a significant amount of mechanical and electrical building services.
The Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor must factor all potential costs involved with each project including labour, materials, location, contract duration and programming and any special requirements that might be needed.
The Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor will have a minimum of 5 years' construction experience ideally within the M&E sector.
Role Requirements and Qualifications: -
Specialist Quantity Surveyor with both the Mechanical and Electrical elements on large scale build projects.
You will build up the cost estimates by analysing the materials and labour needed to complete the project, take into consideration the cost of wasted materials and possible delays in the project, know the risks involved, and create compliant cost schedules
Must be able to function autonomously and jointly with the Director
Ideally experience working on projects within the residential and Commercial sector.
A strong knowledge of all on site knowledge including handling variations and re-measurements preferred.
Experience working as a Quantity Surveying for an M&E subcontractor is preferable.
Must be able to work as a standalone QS on site and if you can lead a team that would be an advantage dependent on level.
Be able to measure and value mechanical and electrical works and variations
Be educated to degree level in a construction, engineering or quantity surveying discipline
Have a strong understanding of the mechanisms and contractual mechanisms of the various forms of contract e.g. NEC
Be able to set procurement strategies for M & E Works and Sub-Contract M & E Packages
Be able to tender and procure M & E works and sub-contract packages
Thorough understanding of the construction industry and broad understanding of regulatory requirements.
Excellent ability to analyse and interpret contractual documents.
Confer with engineers, designers, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
