GDMS has an immediate opening for a Information Technology (IT) Security/Vulnerability Scanning Engineer to join our team in Seabrook, MD. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance of an organization that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to develop plans for and manage the contract organization of GDMS. The IT Security/Vulnerability Scanning Engineer will be responsible for heading up the vulnerability scanning efforts of various National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) mission systems. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining Tenable's Secure Center application of a Virtual Machine (VM) network enterprise

  • Vulnerability management and analytics

  • Expanding current capabilities to best support IT security compliancy

  • Managing laptop with Nessus vulnerability management for scanning outside of the VM network

  • Ensuring equipment compliance with IT security requirements and tenable plug-ins

  • Supporting IT security assessments for various NASA missions, in conjunction with NASA, National Institute of Standards & Technology, and Assessment & Authorization activities

  • Performs customer requirements analysis, develops system requirements and defines allocations to lower levels

  • Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, Commercial off the shelf components, Government Furnished Equipment/Contract Furnished Equipment, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

  • Supports the generation of technical engineering products and services by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle and Security Development Life Cycle.

Basic Qualifications:

The IT Security/Vulnerability Scanning Engineer position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field, or the equivalent experience is required. In addition, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
