WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff's Murray, Utah office has an immediate need for a Senior Supervising Planner to manage the local planning projects. The individual will be actively engaged in business development/marketing activities in the local market; a solid understanding of transportation planning principles and planning tools will be important. The position requires the flexibility to travel occasionally for project work in support of other WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff offices.

Job Duties Include:
      • Candidates should have experience in transportation projects, particularly highway and transit
      • Lead the analysis of transportation impacts
      • Prepare studies and documents in compliance with applicable governing statutes
      • Develop and comply with appropriate permitting and mitigation monitoring processes
      • Manage scope, schedule and budget and oversee sub-consultants for projects of moderate to large size
      • Supervise junior and mid-level staff and support their career development
      • Analyzing transportation, environmental and socio economic impacts
      Providing environmental planning support in the design of major infrastructure projects and supporting public participation and agency involvement activities

Job Requirements
Education Required:
      Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university
Experience/Skills Required:
      • Candidates should have a minimum of fifteen years progressively responsible experience in planning or research-related activities (or equivalent working knowledge/experience) related to preparation of transportation planning documentation for public projects, and/or active involvement in transportation planning analysis or research
      • Experience managing transportation NEPA and PEL projects preferably with experience dealing with UDOT and Utah FHWA staff
      • Ability to not only lead projects but also assign tasks and work with environmental technical specialists and engineering project members in the development of documents or technical reports
      • Interest in and ability to successfully lead strategic pursuits of local projects
      • Ability to work well with and establish partnerships with other disciplines (e.g., engineering), project management, client representatives, government agencies, and other organizations
      • Ability to effectively supervise junior and senior staff and support their career development
      • Knowledge of state and national planning and environmental regulations, an understanding of land use planning laws and local agency practices
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills
      • The candidate must have excellent research, analytical, problem-solving, writing and communication skills in an office specializing in transportation projects
Desired Qualifications:
      • Working knowledge of Utah project development requirements and natural resource permitting a plus
      • The American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification and/or a PE are also a plus

The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
