About the Business Line
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources.

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Geologist for immediate employment for the Seattle, WA office. This individual will serve as a geoscience resource to an office of over 50 professionals in the areas of geologic/seismic hazards, environmental remediation and restoration.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
  • Provide technical support for office and field projects assessing geologic and seismic hazards, environmental investigation and/or remediation
  • Conduct field work including geologic and geohazards mapping, soil logging, monitoring well installation, soil and groundwater sampling on projects with a well-defined scope
  • Evaluate and interpret groundwater flow and chemical fate and transport in groundwater and soil
  • Research, review and interpret and compile pertinent data and information from scientific publications, reports and maps on geology, hydrogeology, tectonics, GPS and seismicity, and paleoseismology
  • Contribute directly to the preparation and review of technical project deliverables (e.g. work plans, reports, maps and figures)
  • Job duties will involve both field and office assignments with occasional travel up to several weeks required
  • Potential for international travel

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Geology or Geological Science
  • 2 years experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and Adobe Acrobat (or equivalent pdf)
  • Experience performing, or a thesis related to, geologic and/or seismic hazards assessments.
  • Ability to complete both field and office work for environmental and geologic/seismic projects.
  • Experience interpreting satellite imagery/aerial photos and digital elevation-based maps
  • Energetic, flexible and detail oriented with good verbal and written communication
  • Dedication to safe work

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Geology or Geological Science
  • Experience mapping geology/geohazards using GIS software
  • Experience and/or coursework in hydrogeology and chemical fate and transport in groundwater and soil.
  • Experience or coursework with geomorphology, landslide/slope processes, geologic mapping, and Quaternary fault assessment and field techniques
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER Health and Safety training
  • ASBOG Geologist-in-Training
