Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Human Resources Generalist 2 to be based in our Calgary, Alberta location.

This position will provide consultative guidance and "hands on" service excellence in supporting all HR related areas such as policy interpretation and best practices, process & procedure development and training, as well as coaching on performance management and other employee relations issues in line with company's Vision of being an Employer of Choice

May include the following responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance to our senior managers about HR employment standards and practices.
  • Lead employee relations investigations.
  • Provide guidance to the business units in relation to employee lifecycle activities including recruitment, on-boarding, workforce development, employee management and succession, and terminations.
  • Communicate and interpret policies and advise managers on their application
  • Meet compliance requirements for HR procedures.
  • Provide updates on HR initiatives to senior management to ensure there is alignment with business unit plans.
  • Participate in the annual strategic planning process and setting objectives
  • Ensure alignment is maintained with the business units and the rest of company's operations, including participation in the Managed Transfer process to redeploy resources where needed.
  • Create ad-hoc reporting from HRIS systems and maintain data integrity of the information
  • Ensure adequate Performance Management training is delivered to the business units and reinforce our programming as required
  • Identify ongoing needs or problems that require research, analysis and resolution, in order to meet the changing business requirements.
  • Identify organizational training needs and participate in the coordination, development and delivery of training initiatives.
  • Liaise with Recruitment and the Employee Service Centre in the attraction and retention of qualified staff including Temporary Foreign Workers.
  • Review onboarding and orientation to ensure new employees are given an engaging welcome to your business units.
  • Drive annual salary and variable compensation programming to ensure that goals are set and measured, and that we remain compliant to our salary bands and total rewards strategies.

Minimum Requirements
  • A relevant Bachelor's degree from an accredited post-secondary institution

  • 3-5 years Human Resource Advisor (generalist) experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Certified Human Resources Professional designation is a definite asset.
Familiarity with the construction and oil and gas service sector is required
Familiarity working in a complex organizational environment is required
