Responsibilities for this Position:

GDMS has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Pittsfield, MA. The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed clients to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to design and produce the state-of-the-art products that support GDMS and our clients. The MLP is a three year rotational program comprised of six, 6 month rotations. MLP members will work in all facets of manufacturing as well as have the unique opportunity to explore assignments in engineering, quality and business development. Program members will pursue a company-paid Master's degree as well as GDMS internal Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification - both of which are requirements for graduation from the program.

MLP Engineers on our Manufacturing Team develop, implement and maintain the methods, operation sequences and processes used in GDMS production. This involves the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. The employee is also responsible for estimating manufacturing costs, determining project time standards, and recommending the tools and processes that accompany new and existing product lines. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide guidance to fellow engineers, helping them to enhance organizational design concepts and manufacturing techniques.

  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs
  • Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
  • Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices

Required: GPA 3.0/4.0 or greater

Basic Qualifications:

Candidates must show a passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of emerging technologies, and the ability to effectively manage, grow and evolve GDMS technology.

The MLP Engineer position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering or in a related specialized area or the equivalent, with a minimum of zero to two years of related experience.

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
