Penguin are pleased to be working with one of the UK's largest Agricultural, Environmental and Rural specialists in Leeds who are looking to recruit a talented and ambitious Assistant Town Planner to join the highly experienced and successful team in Leeds.
The company boast over 50 years experience and have multiple offices throughout England and Wales providing a multi-disciplinary service to clients in the Public & Privates sectors.
The company provide planning advice to shape land-use and ensure the right developments happen in the right locations. They work with private, public and third sector clients to guide planning policies and deliver consents for a wide variety of projects.
Using 50+ years of experience, our client recognises greenfield sites and rural areas need special consideration and have a comprehensive understanding of national and local planning policies and how they are best applied to a particular development.
Seen as an excellent opportunity for a junior Planner to develop his/her experience the key duties for the role includes:-
-Providing pre planning advice and planning appraisals to the company's clients.
-Working alongside the team of planning applications and where appropriate assisting in Planning Appeals
-Involvement in community consultation and stakeholder engagement.
-Working on Planning policy including Local Plan evidence based studies, Regional & National studies to support planning policy making etc.
-Working on Residential projects from bespoke Residential developments through to major regeneration sites. This will include feasibility studies and promotion of land through the planning process.
-Involvement in Environmental Impact Assessments.
-Working with the team to secures planning permission for large scale solar development, wind turbines, anaerobic digesters, hydro power, biomass, biogas and diesel generators.
-RTPI recognised degree and/or masters with a 2:1 score or higher
-Previous relevant planning experience (private sector experience desirable)
-Working towards MRTPI
-Driven and hard working ethic
-Personable with good communication skills
-Competitive starting salary reviewed annually (£20,000 - £25,000 p/a dependant on experience)
