Our client, an established multi-disciplinary consultancy with over 50 years history and offices in England & Scotland are seeking to appoint an experienced and commercially minded Associate Planner.
The role has arisen due to the office's increasing workload and expanding client base and you will play a pivotal role in shaping and further growing the business in the North West. You will work with a range of public and private sector clients such as major high street retailers, developers, housebuilders, landowners and investors alongside local authorities and a range of other public sector clients.
The company have a strong presence in multiple markets and so you can expect projects to fall in Commercial, Education, Energy, Healthcare, Residential, Retail, Minerals & Waste and Leisure & Tourism sectors.
Key responsibilities will include
-Provide advice to clients at all stages of the planning process
-Prepare and submit planning reports, design and access statements and other documents in support of planning applications
-Manage project teams and provide advice and support to junior team members
-Contribute to expert witness evidence that will be presented at local plan examinations and appeals, and appear at those examinations/appeals where appropriate
-Participate in business planning for the Manchester office
-Project management of projects, including budget control
-Develop new business opportunities
-Effectively manage client relationships and increase repeat business
-Demonstrable experience as part of a successful team in delivering planning solutions
-Strong client facing ethos, can-do attitude
-Experience of mentoring junior staff and managing projects
-Proven track-record in developing and securing new business opportunities
-Experience of working with clients, both in the public and private sectors
-Experience of budget monitoring, change management and fee negotiation
-Excellent communication skills at all levels
