About the Business Line
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design-build.

Job Summary
The AECOM Asset Management team is actively seeking an Asset Management Consultant for immediate employment in its Burnaby, BC, office. In addition to a strong technical ability, you will have an innovative approach and ability to take on responsibility, communicate clearly and effectively, be organized and work collaboratively with other team members. This position is ideal for an individual who possesses an appropriate balance of both technical ability and people skills and will be assisting with the following:
  • Overseeing the National Water and Wastewater Benchmarking database
  • Developing and implementing data collection systems and other strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality
  • Acquiring data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Filtering and "cleaning" data, and reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct problems
  • Work closely with senior staff to prioritize tasks and information needs

Beyond the data management responsibilities, the successful candidate will:
  • Participate in the development of solutions to client problems with a focus on financial analysis and capital investment under the guidance of a more senior manager.
  • Be assigned as a consultant to a wide variety of areas

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of experience
  • An understanding of municipal infrastructure, particularly in the areas of public works asset management principles will be considered an asset
  • Proven working experience as a data analyst would be a plus: high level of proficiency in the use of Excel and database software is a core competency
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with databases (Access, SQL, etc.), Geo Information Systems (e.g. ArcGIS) and website. maintenance software (Adobe Dreamweaver or similar) would be a definite asset
  • Articulate and confident, with excellent presentation skills (both oral and written)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and interest in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling of water, sanitary and stormwater systems would be an asset
