Job Summary
As an undergraduate Graphic Designer, you will gain experience working with our multi-disciplinary team of urban planners/designers, landscape architects, architects and engineers

The undergraduate Graphic Designer will provide support to Project Managers/ Project Directors on the development and execution of visual presentation ideas throughout a project's lifecycle.

Working closely with the studio team, the undergraduate Graphic Designer will assist in the development and production of graphic concepts, drawings and project reports for a diverse portfolio of clients and broad scope of projects spanning urban, post-industrial and greenfield sites as directed.

You will develop hands-on experience in the application of Graphic Design skills along with project coordination responsibilities from time to time, to complement your continuing studies.

This position is suitable for a student who is available to work a minimum of one day per week.

  • Work with project managers and team members to help identify appropriate graphic solutions to develop a design strategy for client projects
  • Conduct research and analysis as needed for a project
  • Assist (by hand or with computer software) in the development and presentation of drawings, plans, renderings, reports and the production of marketing material, and presentation packages for public/private review
  • Provide additional support to Project Manager and team to ensure smooth execution of projects
  • Ensure that all relevant Quality Assurance procedures are followed whilst understanding the importance of adherence to Quality Assurance standards;
  • Responsible for leading and modelling appropriate cultural behaviours (People, Clients, Excellence, Integrity, Safety, Innovation) responsible).
  • Responsible for maintaining a professional image on behalf of the company at all times when dealing with internal and external clients;

Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Excellent design, visualization and graphic skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence and ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical staff at all levels
  • Effective time management skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated initiative and creativity in developing solutions with a high attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience
  • Successfully completed one year of study towards a degree in Graphic Design or similar.
  • Advanced level skills in Adobe CS2 (Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat and Illustrator) with proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Good hand drawing skills and experience working with 3D programs (AutoCAD/ Sketch Up) beneficial
  • A promising portfolio of work demonstrating creativity and innovation
