NOC Technician

The Senior NOC Technician is to ensure that customer SLA are met and recorded and that internal and external services are available as and when they are required.

Liaise directly with Customers, vendors and suppliers in a courteous professional manner
Responsible for the administration of NOC working practices and procedures such as FAQ and Wiki
Competent operation of internal telephony system
Manage update/changes of all documents in various procedure binders and online accessible locations whenever directed
Owner of end to end ticket management, ensuring that all tickets are logged, updated and communicated correctly with detailed information
Self-motivated learning and staying up to date with the latest industry technology advances
Maintain managed excel repair service inventory as directed
Be familiar with all hardware and software systems
Networking with colleagues to maintain awareness of internal environment
Competent use of IT Tools (printing, file system)
Accountable for shift engagement in Goods in/out
Remotely accessing customer networks for investigation of incidents
Back up customer and internal IT infrastructure as required
Accountability for Generating Ad Hoc Reporting such as pivot charts and tables
AMR Process operation
Accountable for MRS Process operation, ensuring process adherence
Fault finding customer equipment (analysis)
Functional and Hierarchical escalation of incidents as required
Accountable for V1 Ticket Control and escalation
Radio Configuration and optimisation as required
Gateway router selection and configuration
Ticket Categorisation based on Procedures Manual information
Advanced equipment configuration of supported equipment
Accountable for monthly and weekly customer calls, ensuring they are completed satisfactorily
Intermediate fault finding of internal IT
Accountable for customer software and firmware distribution
Attendance of Service Review Meetings providing intelligent insight
Skills Transfer and training to trainee & operators.


Awareness of ITIL. Foundation accreditation an advantage
Working experience on SDH / PDH transmission systems and transmission synchronisation systems
CCNA qualifications, or working towards CCNA
Working experience in a NOC environment
