Cathcart Associates have a unique opportunity for a Data Centre Technician to join a leading services company in their Data centre facility in Aberdeen. This role is not technical from an IT perspective; it will suit an individual who comes from a mechanical / engineering background, ideally with a good understanding of how a data centre operates from a mechanical / physical infrastructure perspective.

As an organisation my client invests a lot of money in technology, meaning the data centre environment is cutting edge and very high spec. This role will see you become a key face within the facility; you will be instrumental in ensuring that a high level of procedural knowledge and adherence is used within the DC, from security personnel to engineers to customers etc.

This company is at the top of their game; and they are continuing to grow, making this an opportune time to get your foot in the door. As an organisation they really value their staff, and are keen to attract and retain talent. As this role grows, there is huge scope for career progression and this opportunity could see you become a Data Centre manager if you have the drive and passion to do so.

There is a competitive basic salary on offer, combined with a great working environment that is unrivalled within the industry, so don't miss out.

Key Responsibilities / Requirements:

** Responsible for inspecting, planning and reporting any potential issues within the DC to ensure Tier 3 status is maintained

** Conduct of the Fire Safety, Physical Security, CCTV and Access Control Policies

** You will report and record of physical DC metrics such as temperature, Humidity, alarms and power used etc.

** Manage the maintenance schedules for all DC equipment, as well as managing the grounds and outside structures

** Responsible for the availability of and capacity management of the power, space, cooling, footprint and PDU capacity

** Identify and resolve any issues raised during audits

** Maintain and manage all ISO audit documentation as well as Information Security policies

** Good knowledge of facility management as well as mechanical and electrical experience would be a distinct advantage
