Job Purpose

As part of the UK-based team, responsible for the management of support and development activity (supporting a variety of business improvement programmes) relating to the company's Information Technology; working as a 'hands-on' specialist as and when required.

Taking a cross-functional view with all IT demand, has the ability to prioritise requirements to the benefit of the business and has the ability to seek out new opportunities with technologies that keep the business ahead of the competition.


•Four years' experience in an SAP arena with proficient configuration knowledge in SD, MM, WMS, & FICO modules. Other SAP module experience will be advantageous.
•Three years' experience in managing the requirements process for IT projects across the full life cycle.
•Broad business process experience, & how SAP can be applied to improve business performance.
•Close liaison & interaction with business users at all levels (including business partners).
•Through professional qualifications & relevant corporate memberships, possess demonstrable knowledge of industry best practice and the ability to pass this on through focused coaching.

Job Responsibilities and Major Activities

•Manage, direct and motivate teams in support of the business goals, and in line with agreed standards. Provide the cohesive link between IT, business users & senior management, key customers and suppliers.
•Carry out analysis of business requirements & advise on the most effective design & end-solution.
•Ensure SAP is sustained to the highest standards & that maximum benefit is delivered from its usage.
•Ensure the optimum balance of technical capability is applied across both internal resources & outsourced resources. Engage external partners as required to meet objectives & deliverables defined by the business.
•Ensure maximum benefit is delivered from SAP applications by ensuring business users are highly capable. In pursuit of this goal, provide on-going presentations, training & knowledge transfer to the business.
•Act as the clients Data Protection Officer, ensuring the business remains compliant on all DP obligations.

Key Deliverables

•Ongoing support of all live operational business systems ensuring 100% availability for key technologies.
•Lead successful IT projects that adhere to agreed scope, timescales and budget. Identify & implement business system solutions that positively differentiate the business from the competition.
•Maintaining strong relationships across senior managers & business IT users whilst improving the integration of IT resources into the business.
•Development & implementation of an IT Strategy including KPI's that demonstrate successes & drive improvement activities.
•Fully compliant on DP obligations & other 'legals' such as software asset management; PCIDSS etc.

•Being able to work at both a Strategic & Tactical level with senior management, whilst being self-motivated and driven to meeting agreed objectives and timescales.
•Deployment of excellent customer service skills along with a keen interest in IT & a high level of interpersonal skills, good influencing skills & the ability to work under pressure.
•To maintain in depth understanding and knowledge of relevant business processes and technologies.
•Prioritising continuous demand for IT support & development programmes to ensure IT resources are deployed in value-add activities.
•Ability to interact effectively with company directors, senior business users and business partners.
