My client, a successful manufacturing organisation offering a uniquely varied production environment, needs a Production Engineer with strong project skills, in particular NPI related, to join their Production Engineering team.


In this responsible role, you will manage new products into production, improve current processes and manage a variety of tolling and equipment related projects. The right person will find this role stimulating and interesting and you will be stretched and challenged.

To succeed in this role you will need strong communication, time and project management skills and be able to work on multiple projects in conjunction with engineering teams across the business.


The successful Production Engineer will:

- Provide day to day support to the production process.
- Undertake continuous improvement activities and problem solving activities using lean tools and techniques.
- Own and deliver projects ranging from tooling and jigs and fixtures to new processes and bringing new products into production.
- Manage product changes and introduce new products into the business (NPI).

You should be qualified to at least HNC/D level in a mechanical or electrical engineering subject and have experience of production engineering / manufacturing engineering, ideally in an assembly or component production environment.

You will be self-motivated and able to manage yourself and others as you will be contributing to cross-functional engineering teams in order to solve problems and implement developments and improvements.

Your engineering ability and understanding is important but equally so is your communication skills and ability to manage projects and people to achieve your objectives.
