We are seeking a Quality engineer to join MMRA, based in Central London.
Assessed by UKAS against EN 17021 for activities relating to assessment, certification and registration of Management Systems.
Assessed by UKAS against EN 17065 for Product Certification currently in the railway domain but is looking to increase the scope outside of railways.
Accredited by UKAS as an Inspection Body (Type 'C') against EN 17020 to provide accredited inspection services currently in the railway rolling stock domain but is looking to increase the scope outside of railways.
Appointed as a Notified Body (NoBo) and Designated Body (DeBo) by the Department of Transport (DfT) under the Railway (Interoperability) Regulations and also an Assessment Body (AB) under the Common Safety Method EU regulations.
Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) Link Up approved to supply Safety Management System Review (also known as Independent Safety Assessment services), Quality Management Systems/Certification and Quality Audit in the railway domain.
Approved by London Underground as a Products Assessor and Advisor to support manufacturers, suppliers and contractors by proposing products directly on to the London Underground Approved Products Register.

The main duties of the Quality engineer and purpose of this role is to:
Provide support to Quality manager.
Act as the focus for procedures and processes related to MMRA's accreditations.
Support technical assessments by discipline specialists.
Co-operate in audits
Provide and review audit reports.
The role could include:
Ensuring effective application of the MMRA Quality system.
Development of the MMRA Quality system in support of the current and proposed accreditations.
Co-ordination of all accreditation processes.
Provision of audit resource support for all MMRA activities.
Checking deliverables when appropriate.
Collecting and analysing data from audit findings and liaising with staff and third parties.
You will attend client's office/site as appropriate.
You have to be willing to travel and work abroad on short term assignments.
We are looking for an individual with the following experience and skills:
Knowledge of management systems and good skills in communication, organisation, report writing and IT.
An auditing qualification would be an advantage (lead Auditor - preferred).
Understanding of standards, assurance processes and the role of standards.
You will have:
Experience of procedure development applications.
Work experience from within a quality management environment.
Some exposure to railway project work or other industrial major project(s).
Attention to detail.
Experience of corporate document management system.
Be able to apply procedures to organise works processes
