Health & Safety Officer - About the Company:
A local Automotive Manufacturing Company are now looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join their team.

Purpose of Role - Health & Safety Officer

- To review and update all of the companies Health & Safety policies and procedures
- Maintain the companies ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 accreditations
- Ensuring that effective risk assessment processes are in place for all the site's activities, including general risk assessments, COSHH, Manual Handling, Noise, DSE, and other statutory requirements
- Ensuring effective systems are in place to assess the site's Environmental Aspects and controls, whilst maintaining the site's environment management system in accordance with the requirements of ISO 14001
- Implementing and maintaining effective systems for reporting and responding to accidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and ensuring implementation of effective corrective action
- Arranging inspection and testing of facilities and equipment, e.g. pressure systems, LEV, lifting equipment, in accordance with insurance and statutory requirements
- Implementing and testing arrangements for emergency response and fire systems
- Providing recommendations on how to improve HSE practice
- Maintaining relevant KPIs and information on HSE matters, including progress on improvement plans, safety and environment incidents and trends, and updates of relevant legislation
- Providing appropriate training and communication to ensure that all managers and workers, including new starters, are aware of their HSE responsibilities and are competent to undertake them
- Delivery of induction for new employees
- Participating in the site's safety and environment meetings and chairing such meetings as required
- Liaising with external bodies, e.g. HSE, Insurance Assessors, Fire Authorities, Environment Agency, as required to support the effective management of HSE at the site
- Maintaining appropriate documentation and records to demonstrate compliance with the HSE system and all statutory requirements

Candidate requirements - Health & Safety Officer
The ideal candidate MUST come from the Manufacturing Industry as a Health & Safety Officer and have the following skills, qualifications & experience:

- Ideally hold a NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent
- Member of IOSH and working towards CMIOSH status
- Experience of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18801
- Experience of liaising with local authorities
