Charteris Consultancy are working alongside an established consultancy and engineering business who focus on innovative delivery solutions to the Energy & Utilities sectors. This company have a global presence and are expanding further to new geographies.

Having recently won a major contract to service a utilities client in Warrington, Cheshire, they are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to help them maintain and grow the account.

Key Responsibilities:
• Owning and delivering the long term strategy and business plan to deliver business growth within the account
• Developing long term trusted-advisor relationships with CXO / Director level stakeholders in the assigned customer account
• Understanding the key drivers, challenges and investment plans of the customer account, and working with cross-functional internal teams to devise appropriate services/solutions
• Leading all pre-sales efforts with the assigned customer account - from opportunity identification to deal closure
• Working with the delivery business units to assemble the right team for each assignment
• Ensuring the teams deliver the committed business outcomes
• Forecasting and tracking key account metrics on an ongoing basis (order book, revenue, P&L, employee satisfaction, customer satisfaction)
• Communicating clearly the progress of initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
• Managing issues as the first point of escalation

Essential Experience:
• 12-15 years of consulting / engineering / operations experience in a regulated sector
• Managing a customer account of upto £10m revenue per annum
• Construction and negotiation of deals larger than £5m through proactive identification of opportunity and consultative selling
• P&L management
• Building and nurturing senior client relationships (C-level or exec)
• Tendering and bid management

Desired Experience:
• Utilities sectoral experience - preferably water, in the north of UK
• Delivering business growth in excess of 100% per annum
• Devising innovative service lines in response to market needs
• Working understanding of legal agreements and contracts
• Working in the seed teams of entrepreneurial organisations

Skill Sets Required:
• Sound financial understanding and attention to commercial detail
• Strong communication skills - written, oral, presentation
• Strong interpersonal and listening skills
• Should be mobile, with a full driving license

Education Level / Qualifications:
• Mandatory - Bachelors' degree
• Desired - Masters' degree in business management
• Water sector certifications will be a plus

Additional Information:
• Networking skills and the ability to build trusted long term relationships within the selected client organisation, and the wider industry is very essential for this role. Any candidate who comes with a good link into senior water sector leaders of the North would have an advantage going into this role
• Delivery assurance and leadership is an integral part of this role, as much as business development is. Past delivery leadership experience will be an advantage
