TITLE: Heritage Consultant
SALARY: Dependent on Experience
We are working with an award winning civil/structural practice who focus on projects across minerals, planning, renewable energy, waste resource management, mining, sport and leisure, utilities and infrastructure, property and development, landscape and environment.
As one of the UK's leading environmental and engineering consultancies, our client is looking to add a Heritage Consultant to the team based in the South West as part of the wider Environmental Team.
The main duties of the position would include, but are not limited to:
Desk studies - collating and reviewing existing archaeological information and report writing
Processing Historic Environment data in GIS
Archaeological site walkovers
Assisting with research projects and review of documentation
Assistance with the assessment of the impacts of proposed developments or changes in land management and developing recommendations for the mitigation of archaeological impacts
Assisting with the production of reports and other documents
General administrative / management tasks relating to project quality, environmental issues, and health and safety (including risk assessment), and marketing
Acting as support for others within the same team
A successful candidate will require:
Proficient in use of GIS Software.
Familiarity with use of data supplied by Historic Environment Records.
Proven excellent analytical and report writing skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Education to degree level or higher in Archaeology or a related discipline.
At least 2 years working experience within a Heritage Consultancy Environment
Full Driving License
