Iggesund Paperboard is a Swedish company and a member of the Holmen Group. We are the proud producer of Invercote and Incada, which is a high quality virgin fibre paperboard, used in the packaging and graphics sectors. We are listed in the top one hundred of the world's most sustainable companies. A great opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Supervisor to join our team.
If you are a hands-on engineering professional with a superb leadership style, this is a brilliant opportunity to join an exciting company that champions sustainability and eco-friendly products.
Finding, recruiting and developing committed and skilled employees is crucial to Iggesund Paperboard's success. As such, we offer a rewarding environment where staff are encouraged to grow their skill-set and pursue their ambitions.
As the Mechanical Supervisor, you'll be tasked with overseeing all planned maintenance work, troubleshooting and repairs at our mill in Workington.
Leading a team of Craftsmen and Contractors, you'll make sure that employees work in a safe manner, in-line with legal and company requirements. You'll monitor employees' performance and create development plans to ensure that staff fulfil their potential.
Working closely with the Production Department, you'll strive to minimise downtime and ensure that mill and area waste services are fully functional.
Additionally, you'll drive continuous improvement throughout your department and take part in the engineering duty rota.
To be considered, you must have:
- Experience gained within an engineering environment, ideally for a minimum of two years
- Previous experience in a leadership role
- Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance and general engineering and production
- Knowledge of plant management databases
- Health & safety training, such as IOSH
- A high level of IT literacy, including MS Office suite
Organised and methodical, as the Mechanical Supervisor, you must be a proactive team player who can motivate others. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are also key, as is the ability to prioritise your workload.
Ideally, you'll have an HNC level qualification in a technical discipline, but this is by no means essential.
