Engineering Services Manager|
Location: South Glasgow
Our client is an Engineering Service company, located in the greater Glasgow area. They work with pumps, gearboxes and mixers, specialising in mechanical seals and sealing devices. They have developed technology and special equipment for coating, improving efficiency on new and used pumps, and the rebuild of worn mechanical equipment. The company are sales and customer service oriented, with a yearly significant growth in turnover.
The current manager is re-locating so they are looking for someone with the following skills:
Organised and Charismatic leader: To lead a tightly knit group of people. Someone who can motivate and inspire a diverse group. Service to the process industry is an important part of the business. This includes emergency calls at inconvenient hours, and constant changes in priorities.
Sales and market oriented: This is a boutique company, with a t/o of just over £1 million and 9 members of staff thus this is a hands on role including customer visits and negotiations with the larger customers and key suppliers.
Technically ability: A Good knowledge of pumps and mechanical seals is important for this role. Alternatively excellent knowledge of any other type of rotary equipment or discipline will be considered. The successful candidate must have a track history of being able to pick up new processes and skills quickly.
ISO 9001: The company is looking to improve their quality management systems, so previous experience of this will be looked upon favourably. There will be a requirement to improve safety procedures and orderliness. Being up to date in this area is key.
General management: General administration including the oversight of the company accounts, budgeting etc... Reporting to banks, and the head office in Norway as well as suppliers
Travel will be required within the role around Europe but also America. You can expect to be travelling for approximately 50-80 days per year.
This role comes with the offer of a competitive salary, and long term there is the opportunity to take a shareholding in the company at a reasonable price. Training in Norway and the US will take place relatively soon after employment.
