Role: Engineering Sales Manager|
Salary: £45k to £48.5k
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To take active measure for promoting the clients brands within the UK and Leading to sustainable new machine sales as well as small plant equipment sales.
To actively engage in understanding the engineering and the operation of the clients machines and small plant as well as new research areas around the track maintenances and to make use of this knowledge. To be able to develop and maintain relationships at multiple levels within the customer base and use these relationships to promote the benefit of the clients organisations and products which should ultimately be leading to sustainable new business in all areas of this business.
To Lead the preparation of bids for all tenders, both for new machines and small plant equipment as well as other products which the client offers.
To liaise with the customers and clients throughout the process of new machines sales from bid though to delivery according to the agreed standards and contract terms, ensuring this leads to satisfied customers and thereby further promoting the brand and opening the path for further sales opportunities.
To manage the spares, procurement, stores and facilities teams as well as provide them with commercial guidance to deliver best value. This includes working with the clients to develop their market suitable spares and pricing, to take part in strategic divisions on stock holding and to provide commercial oversight to alternate scouring the fast scouring of unusual service investigated.
- Engineering degree, Engineering apprenticeship, Business Degree or similar qualification
- Able to provide strategic commercial direction to both sales and procurement teams
- Able to engage and interact confidently with all levels from technician to director
- Aptitude for reading, understanding, interpreting, evaluating and summarising contract terms asl well as conditions for the engineering requirements to her highest possible standards
- At least 2 years in UK rail industry, with an engineering focus.

The terms for the role of Engineering Sales Manager is as noted below:
Permanent role (not contract)
£45, 000 to £48,500 per annum - salary range
Basic Hours of work 08:00 to 16:45 Mon To Thurs & 08:00 to 12:00 Fri - Total 37 Hours per week basic
Unsociable hours as required & Be prepared to work away from home from time to time.
The candidate must be capable of holding a PTS Medical & Drugs & Alcohol Certificate - to be sponsored by the client
Full, clean, manual driving licence required - Company vehicle available
Or a Car - allowance payable in line with Company policy
Holiday 4 week + 1 day in first year of employment
Holiday 5 weeks + 1 day from second year of employment and thereafter
All statutory UK Bank holidays are paid
The candidate will automatically be enrolled to a contributory pension after 3 months service. ( Employee contribution)
