Due to the continuous success of our Australian operations, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Fire Engineering Manager to play a key role based in our Sydney office.

You will be responsible for the management and leadership of the Fire Safety Engineering team and will have P&L accountability for the operational efficiency and for the gross profit (including controllable in-directs) of the Fire cost centre.
The role is to lead, develop and embed a strong client and project culture around a technically excellent and efficient delivery model, balanced with the need to satisfy client, staff and commercial expectations.

Job Requirements
You will:

      • Demonstrate excellent inter-personal skills with good leadership and management abilities capable of communicating effectively with all parts of the business.
      • Support and promote team work, within the cost centre and across the wider business.
      • Actively lead and manage a technical team(s) and ensure that technically competent staff are assigned to projects.
      • Demonstrate appropriate client and project leadership at all times.
      • Actively manage and undertake business development and maintain excellent client relationships to ensure an ever increasing order book. Work with regional and national colleagues to develop effective client relationships.
      • Maintain an overview and understanding of team workload / utilisations and associated resource requirements.
      • Promote and manage the PDR process, across the team, to encourage training and learning, competencies and support career development.
      • Promote technical innovation, best practice and technological advancements.
      • Grow technical capability and discipline specialist capability
      • Improve market profile & create & maintain ongoing relationships with universities, professional and sector institutions and other centres of learning.
      • Undertake & encourage on going consideration to Research & Development and bring innovative thinking to projects including the incorporation of emerging legislation & its impact.
