Our client based in Yellowknife, the capital city of the Northwest Territories is seeking a Senior Accountant with potential in the first year to become part of their management group. As the Senior Accountant you will provide a wide variety of accounting services to clients including audits, reviews, compilations, personal and corporate income tax returns. Supervises staff accountants as required and assigned. Meets with clients for initial consultations, to review final financial statements and to present financial statements at board meetings and annual general meetings, for corporate tax planning, and to resolve client complaints or billing NA maintain at least minimum levels of Professional Development points as mandated by CGA Professional NA travel to remote communities may be required Relocation expenses will be considered for the right candidate and there is an outstanding benefits package available. Desired Skills and ExperienceDesignated accountant (i.e., CGA, CMA or CA) with a minimum of three (3) years in public practice or equivalent or minimum Training or courses in supervisory skills and managing people is an NA on education, experience to include at least three (3) years in a similar position in public practice. Supervisory experience is a definite NA working knowledge of all (or most) areas of public practice accounting including audits, reviews, compilations, personal and corporate tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations etc. to enable incumbent to train and supervise student accountants and bookkeepers and personally participate in more complex assignments. General knowledge of CICA Handbook and other professional.
