About the Company:
My Client are a global energy company who specialise within natural gas, utilities and electricity and are specialists within renewable energy, energy efficiency, liquefied natural gas and digital technology. They are extremely successful with a number of large international contracts.
They are looking to ramp up on their recruitment process on some of the most innovative and largest ever private energy investments to date! They have offices across the UK and internationally, but this specific role will be based in West Yorkshire, and will be based on a permanent basis.
I am currently looking for the correct person to form an integral part of the UK & Ireland operations team responsible for developing strategic direction, delivering change and achieving the required overall strategic and planned business performance from the region against the demanding requirements of the business plan.
About the role:
You will be tasked to do, but not limited to:
** Provide compelling solutions to complex technical problems in developing final project technical arrangements, playing a key role within project management
** Support the existing assets, by providing EO&E technical & commercial expertise for the portfolio and advising on O&E costs and plant performance
** Support regional due diligence team with review and assessment activities of new developments, acquisitions, major upgrades and projects.
** Give a qualified assessment of mechanical designs, studies and reports
** Enhance the effectiveness of the production / engineering interface and delivery of key CAPEX, MRR and plant improvement projects
Essential qualifications and experience:
** Mechanical / Operations degree / educational degree relevant to the role
** Experience and knowledge of mechanical engineering in modern power stations or a similar industry
*** Extensive in depth knowledge of power plant engineering and design, operations and maintenance practice
** Excellent problem solving capabilities for complex technical problems, and able to deliver compelling solutions
** Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, able to influence and persuade others to deliver success, including key decision makers

What we are looking for in you:
I'm ideally looking for somebody who has been in a similar position, who has had full responsibility for the delivery of technical large value, complex EPC contracts (value circa £100m - £500m). Someone who has been highly focussed on achieving required levels of performance within planned budgetary constraints and have been responsible for the provision of all technical information / inputs in to project model, project team, ICOM papers to deliver solutions to technical problems.
We are looking for someone with leadership qualities, so that we can move you up the ranks quickly as the business grows. Also we need someone who can help to drive the department forward with creative thinking.
