Purpose of Role Reporting to the Shift Supervisor or Manager of Facility Maintenance; the Junior Maintenance Helper will be responsible for supporting general maintenance and repairs to facilities as well as supporting maintenance duties in line with the Preventative Maintenance Program at our YVR (Vancouver Airport) facility. This position will involve access to secured areas and thus any successful candidates will need to qualify for a Security Clearance I.D NA normal Shift working hours for this role will be 18:30 - 05:00 (Mon-Thurs), but may change to suit the needs of the business. Responsibilities:General Duties:Attend to washroom defects and repair / replace washroom fittings and plumbing itemsMillwork laminate, moldings & hardware repairsRepair of tile and laminate flooringRepair of walls (drywall & painting)Servicing & repair of manual doorsMaintenance and repairs of water featuresCleaning of a variety of filters for duct systemsTransport of tools and materials to work sitesAssist electrician and other trades as required Quality Management:Review and complete work orders with sufficient task information and in a fully legible formatMaintain records and information pertinent to work assignmentsAdhere to departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety guidelinesEnsure due diligence is exercised in the use of equipment and suppliesGeneral HousekeepingEnsure (and enforce) observation of guidelines, rules and regulations related to health and safety of Ensure and enforce strict adherence to the Lock Out/Tag Out Policy Responsibilities/other duties:Participate in educational programs and in-service training,Attend required meetings and participate in monthly staff meetingsProvide verbal and written reports as requestedComplete assigned tasks in a professional and workmanlike manner; and ensure work orders are completed/closed in line with the time frames outlined in the Response Time PolicyAdhere to the OH&S Act; and other required health & safety legislationAny other duties as required Requirements:Education and Training:Grade 12 Diploma essential and post secondary education preferredGeneral understanding of mechanical NA communication and interpersonal skills;Ability to read, write and speak English fluentlyMinimum of 2 years in a similar position or in a general laboring environmentStrong painting, drywall and tiling experienceFamiliar with MS word, excel and database Physical demands of the job:Minimal exertion (sitting, standing, walking) - up to 40%Moderate exertion (some climbing, stooping, extensive walking) - up to 30%Heavy lifting (over 10kg/22lbs) - up to 30%Working at height, up to 120 ftWorking outdoors at all times of year, and various weather conditions Additional information/requirements:40 hours per week with overtime, RRSP and full NA pass security clearance (full background and criminal checks)Full clean driver's license with clean Abstract How to Apply: As an employer of choice we treat all of our employees consistently and fairly to help you achieve your personal and professional ambitions.
