Job Description:

My client, a large Commercial Real Estate firm is currently seeking a dynamic individual for the role of Legal Assistant/Paralegal to provide reliable, timely, and professional support to the Canadian business Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of all necessary legal documentation for a Partner/Legal Counsel specialising in employment law, including managing a heavy file load. This position receives some direction or guidance, but most tasks and objectives are expected to be accomplished independently. The career path for this role is unlimited and varied. The position pays $55K - $65K depending on experience + excellent benefits and opportunity for career advancement. RESPONSIBILITIES • Learn and develop working knowledge of the company's business and core audience • Act as the right hand for current Legal Counsel • Prepare and issue documents necessary, from start to completion on all real estate transactions • Independent drafting of agreements, contracts and financing documents • Summarize due diligence • Liaise with internal and external parties involved with the proceedings, including preparation of correspondence • Review correspondence and respond • May act as a "go to person" for the team to provide direction and guidance QUALIFICATIONS • 5+ years of relevant work experience in employment law required, or equivalent combination of education and work experience • Law Clerk/Paralegal or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate • Ability to communicate effectively with other Firm members, and the aptitude to take care of clients' needs in a professional and courteous manner • Capacity to work independently, as well as in a team environment • The ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy • Produce a high quality and quantity of work product, occasionally under tight deadlines • Able to prioritize and to redefine priorities when necessary • Handle stress in a business-like manner • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
