POSITION TITLE: President, JBS Food Canada ULC (reporting to Andre Nogueira, CEO, JBS USA) DIRECT REPORTS: President, JBS Food Canada, is a full BU leadership role with functional direct reports across Finance, Operations, IT, Service, Procurement, Human Resources, and Sales & Marketing. LOCATION: Calgary, Alberta, Canada THE COMPANY: JBS Food Canada ULC NA ABOUT JBS FOOD CANADA ULC: JBS Food Canada, ULC. is a diversified agribusiness involved in the feeding, harvesting and processing of cattle, retail fertilizer, farming of an irrigated land base for silage and providing agricultural research and consulting. JBS Food Canada includes one beef packing plant in Brooks, Alberta; one feedlot in Brooks, Alberta; 6,600 acres of farmland adjacent to the Brooks feedlot; and corporate headquarters in Calgary, Alberta. The Brooks, Alberta, beef processing facility is located approximately two hours east of Calgary, just off the Trans-Canada Highway, employs nearly 2,500 team members, and has the capacity to harvest and process 4,200 cattle per day with sales to more than 20 countries around the world. The feedlot in Brooks has a one-time feeding capacity of 75,000 head of cattle with the balance of cattle sourced from producers/suppliers from Brandon, Manitoba to Dawson Creek, British Columbia. The Position: The President of JBS Food Canada will have full P&L responsibility, including financial, strategy, production operations, human resources, engineering, sales and marketing, and IT for this ~$3B company. S/He will have the responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and controlling the activities of the organization to obtain optimal efficiency and economy of operation to achieve profitability of the business unit. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Achieve Revenue, Profit and Other Financial Targets Set for the Business:• Complete P&L ownership for the business - Manage the revenue and cost side of the income statement within a traditional organizational structure• Bridge the gaps between functional teams - sales, marketing, service, operations, supply chain, finance, HR, IT• Grow profitable sales within the business cycle through both acquisition and organic growthDrive Strategy Development, Market Expansion and Key Relationships Globally:• Develop and execute appropriate business strategiesDrive Operational Excellence:• Bring rigor and focus to operational improvements, ensuring strong financial and operational discipline across business• Drive productivity gains and cost-cutting to achieve operating profit targetExecute Acquisition Strategy:• Identify potential acquisition targets, working closely with Corporate Leadership Team on target identification, build model, due diligence, and integration plansDevelop the Organization Capabilities to Succeed in Short and Long Term:• Identify talent requirements to grow and operate business• Hire the best possible team to drive higher levels of effectiveness Experience: The President of JBS Food Canada will bring a minimum of 10 years' experience, and a bachelor's degree, (or a minimum of 15 years' experience without a bachelor's degree), of executive management and P&L leadership experience in all aspects of the beef industry in companies of relevant scope/scale and with global reach. S/He will serve as a member of the senior leadership team and, as such, will influence all strategic and operational aspects of the business to ensure growth and profitability. The President will be expected to deliver sales and profits within agreed budgets, while meeting organizational objectives through effective leadership and teamwork. The President of JBS Food Canada will be expected to plan and direct all activities, policies, objectives, and initiatives according to the mission of the organization. S/He will lead the refinement of a business vision and strategy and translate into well-conceived and implemented operating plans. These operating plans must leverage the strengths and opportunities that will best exploit the organization's capabilities and expand its competitive position. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: Impeccable Financial Acumen - S/He must have led a full P&L and bring proven turnaround, profitability, margin control, and cost cutting experience, along with expert knowledge of financial analysis and reporting specific to the global beef industry. Education/experience Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of executive experience in all aspects of the beef industry; OR A minimum of 15 years of executive experience in all aspects of the beef industry if you do not have a Bachelor's degree.
