QUANTITY SURVEYOR - Nottingham - c£35k - £45k + excellent package|
This company has more than 60 years of experience providing, installing and maintaining a comprehensive range of premium products for the transport and treatment of water and wastewater. As an international business with locations throughout the UK they manufacture and market a range of pumps for primary, secondary and tertiary water treatment.
In conjunction with sales team, negotiation and approval of all customer purchase orders, contract and sub-contract terms and conditions of contract.
In conjunction with operations team, preparation of contract documents, negotiation with supply chain, cost analysis and advice on procurement strategy
Performing risk, value management and cost control
Provision of enquiries and commercial negotiation for all treatment procurement activities
Responsibility of all project finances ensuring that projects are delivered with an improved profit margin from original sales margin
Preparation of all payment applications and invoices in accordance with purchase / contract requirements and responsibility for revenue forecasting
Assisting Project Engineers / Managers to prepare financial project reviews and revenue forecasting
Application of the contract / sub-contract throughout the duration of the contract and in conjunction with the Project Manager / Engineer including preparation and administration of contractual claim, including dispute resolution.
Advising on a range of legal and contractual issues across the company where necessary working with our overseas legal and compliance teams.
Where necessary provision of other support activities as the need arises including assistance with contract administration and project management activities.
Potential to manage the small project management team on behalf of treatment
Internal: UK Commercial Team, Treatment Department and Treatment Rental Department
External: All customers and suppliers
REQUIRED SKILLS / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
Degree or professional qualification in relevant discipline
Ideally experience in water or waste water engineering or a similar process related industry
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Excellent working knowledge of contract law in particular those contracts used within the water industry
Excellent working knowledge of English Law, in particular those parts pertaining to the delivery of construction contracts
Good knowledge of Water / Waste Water treatment and pumping applications
Organisational and prioritising skills
The ability to work as part of a team
Strong personality able to deal with customers and suppliers in difficult contractual situations
Flexibility to be able to travel throughout the UK if required
Full UK driving licence
