The International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit organisation. Their mission is to develop Standards that bring transparency, accountability and efficiency to financial markets around the world. Their work serves the public interest by fostering trust, growth and long-term financial stability in the global economy.

The Foundation is a stimulating and challenging place to work. They have around 140 staff, mainly based in London, drawn from 30 nationalities covering roles in technical accounting, operational and support functions.

About the role:

The Foundation maintains and develops the IFRS Taxonomy. Working closely with technical accounting staff, the Taxonomy team converts the presentation and disclosure requirements within the Standards and reporting practice into an IFRS Taxonomy for use in electronic reporting around the world, and They are looking to appoint a Taxonomy Manager.

Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager, you will be responsible for developing changes to IFRS Taxonomy content from new and amended IFRS Standards, and by analysing company financial statements / reports from different industries and regions around the world to understand reporting practice, ensuring that changes are modelled correctly. You will also support the implementation of the taxonomy by preparing a range of documents and materials, developing proposals for consideration by the International Accounting Standards Board and the IFRS Taxonomy Consultative Group, and contributing to discussions relating to the development of the taxonomy with internal and external stakeholders from the accounting, business, investment, regulatory, standard-setting and XBRL / IT communities.

About you:

Experience in corporate financial reporting is essential, as is experience of assessing, defining and organising data and content, and working with data models. You will possess strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to demonstrate conceptual thinking.

A good standard of written and oral English is required, with the ability to write clearly and concisely and to participate and present effectively in meetings. A strong team ethic allowing you to collaborate effectively with others, whilst also being able to work independently, is also necessary. You will need to be able to demonstrate commitment to the objectives of the IASB and to the ideals of standard-setting in the public interest.

You may have experience of the following: Taxonomy, Accountancy, Financial Reporting, Taxonomy Management, Corporate Finance, Data Architecture, etc.
