Our client is an IT consultancy providing a wide range of IT services, equipment and support to a diverse customer base across Cambridgeshire, including a substantial number of non-profit organisations. Having grown since it started trading at the end of 2010 our client is looking for an experienced IT member of staff to join the business and help provide customer IT support.

Purpose of the Role:

* Help deliver the range of IT support needed by our customers
* Demonstrate great problem solving nature ability to prioritise tasks
* Providing customer support, primarily second/third line
* Liaising with customers in person, by phone and email
* Helping with sales and support quotes
* Supporting and developing internal IT systems
* Helping with GSL staff technical development
* IT documentation, internal and customer supplier liaison

Daily duties will be varied and may include amongst other tasks:

* Connecting a DOS based CNC router to a Windows server
* Migrating an Exchange server to Office 365, to implementing an IP phone system
* Specifying a CCTV system
* Remotely fixing an Outlook mailbox corruption in on a laptop in Sudan
* Finding an obscure
* Part to repair a 10 year old Windows NT box or to updating a website

Skills And Experience:

* Strong skills in Microsoft systems including all versions of Windows server (particularly SBS), Exchange (incl Office 365), SQL Server
* Strong skills with networking, firewalls, wireless, internet connections, incl DNS, DHCP, AD, VLANs, DSL/FTTC
* Web hosting, development and administration experience - particularly WordPress/Joomla setup, migration and management
* Vast experience in a wide range of large and small business/IT environments
* Scripting skills with DOS batch and PowerShell
* Strong skills in problem solving
* Desire to learn every day
* Experience with ticketing / helpdesk systems
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to be able to hit the ground running with a real can do attitude getting stuck in
* Be flexible, loyal and committed to the role and aspirations of GSL
* Familiarity with Linux and Mac systems (desirable)

Start: ASAP
Hours: 40 hours per week (permanent/ Contract)
Location: Cambridge, (transport essential)
Hourly Rate: £egotiable
