Web Designer, North London / Hertfordshire|
Salary £24,000 to £26,000 p.a. + benefits.
Fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Web Designer with experience of working on retail websites, to join this highly successful company with offices on the border of North London and Hertfordshire (parking and train station close to office).
We are looking for a talented Web Designer who has a blend of design and front-end development skills and has designed retail websites. You must have proven experience within e-commerce and will also need a strong knowledge of HTML, CSS and Bootstrap, as well as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Experience with testing and optimising would also be hugely advantageous.
As a Web Designer we'll count on you to bring creativity and innovation to every job you work on. Working alongside our website and IT team, you will be responsible for creating engaging design across a wide spectrum of digital and print mediums.
You will be at the heart of what we communicate to the customer and will champion our brand in all visual design.
You will be responsible for:
Building engaging HTML website landing pages.
Creating PSD assets / templates - email and web.
Producing both graphics & code inline with briefs provided by the website team, including page layouts and themes, email designs, site graphics and banners.
Ensuring consistent company branding across all channels.
Campaign creative - logos, mastheads and general 'look and feel'.
Creation and deployment of HTML / CSS web pages for campaigns.
Develop wireframes and concepts that improve the customer experience.
Design concepts for site changes and new projects (e.g. campaign launches, UX improvements).
Working to strict deadlines as part of a fast moving ecommerce design team.
Print work will include seasonal flyers, brochures and leaflets.
Meet stringent deadlines while having the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Requirements of Web Designer role
Previous experience of building a retail website.
A solid understanding and experience of HTML, CSS, & jQuery.
Must have experience with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Experience of responsive coding essential, with a particular focus on Bootstrap.
Print experience an advantage but not essential.
Strong skills in CMS design & code, especially responsive CRM templates.
Experience in usability and MVT testing an advantage.
Experience in a fast paced ecommerce environment with the ability to work quickly from concept creation to finished product.
Forward thinking and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly improve the customer experience.
Highly motivated, willing to learn and develop in the role.
Minimum of 2-3 years experience.
