Day to day handling of import and export jobs from point of origin through to final destination for: FCL, LCL Ocean and Airfreight shipments.
Liaise with Global Customers, Service Providers and Overseas offices/Agents.
Input import/export bookings into the in house system
Raise import and export documentation including Bills of Lading and Certificates of Origin
Import and Export customs formalities
Coordination of deliveries with 3rd party vendors and Shipping Lines for Import and Export shipments
Audit and monitor costs for accuracy as per customers own contracts and raise queries with carriers if required
Ensuring Data Integrity is in accordance with the company's guide lines
Ensure that the company operates in accordance with its defined policies, procedures and processes by monitoring against client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This will entail being trained on SMART (Track and trace system) and Cognos (metric reporting system). Provide continuous training and development to the operations team within the branch on these systems acting as a Super User. Ensure Smart and Cognos implementation in line with SOP's.
Participate in the company's account management process and create operational plans and run KPI and analytical reports for customers.
To respond quickly and give resolution to an issue.
Work closely with other Business Analysts to identify value-added opportunities and ensure consistent customer service.
Share and develop leading implementation and operational practices with peers, Team Leaders and Managers.
Run and analyse internal Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for customers and monitor performance against established KPIs for the customer. Report performance to appropriate Customer parties.
Serve as an escalation point for complex non-compliance issues
Key Competencies / Skills:
Good analytical skills
Strong IT Skills including development capabilities in Excel Pivot Tables and Databases
Effective communication skills with excellent verbal, written and visual/presentation skills
Ability to maintain high standards of customer care/service
Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively
Demonstrate strategic, analytical skills

Good judgement and initiative
Qualifications / Experience:
Degree - preferable in Business IT and Management / Informatics. Or demonstrated skills through previous positions / experience
At least 3 years of operations, industrial engineering, or project management experience preferred.
