IT TECHNICAL SUPPORT REP - PETERBOROUGH - £25-£27.5K|
Stream Commercial Recruitment are seeking a Technical Support Representative for our Client based in Peterborough. The overall purpose of the role is to provide technical solutions to end-users (customers) by carrying out an interrogation diagnostic of the problem and then guiding the user through a step-by-step process to deliver a solution.
These duties include, but are not limited to, IT Networking of Systems, resolving software issues, uninstalling/reinstalling basic software applications, power cycling equipment, assisting with software navigation around menus/system functions, and verifying/recommending proper hardware and software for end customer. Support will be provided by clearly communicating technical solutions in a user-friendly, professional manner by performing a questions diagnosis while guiding users through step-by-step solutions.
Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:
Deliver Service and Support to end-users via remote connection (VPN) or by phone/e-mail interaction.
Gather customers' information in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests and feed these back to the Technical Team.
Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues to a high level of accuracy
Provide consultations for recommended systems, software and hardware in conjunction with the Sales Manager and Account Coordinator
Provide consultations for Sensor Applications
Knowledge and use of computer aided drafting/design software (CAD) to aid in sensor implementation
Ensure that standard processes and procedures are followed
Undertake the research required using available resources to deliver solutions
Redirect problems to appropriate resource
Be able to lift 9kgs or more when helping interface hardware at a customer's site
Accurately process and record calls using a computer and designated tracking software
Follow up and make scheduled calls to customers
Capable of travel domestically and international 10-20% of the calendar year
Skills and Knowledge Qualifications:
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc...);
Proficient with Solid works, Auto CAD, or equivalent software;
IT Networking including, but not limited to:
Routing, Switches, and related devices
Topology or Network Map
FTP/Data Storage techniques
A+, Security +, Cisco + Certification
