Position: Contract IT Project Manager, Retail|
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Day Rate: £400 to £450 per Day
Duration: 9 to 12 Months
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Contract IT Project Manager to join a major division of a FTSE 250 company based in Birmingham and become a key part of a their IT Solutions Team working on a major project within the retail/public transport sector.
We are looking for someone that has experience within retail projects especially within POS that also has strong experience of integration with back office system and payment providers.
You will take responsibility for a key project within the solutions team which encompasses the replacement of 1600 on vehicle retail terminals and ticket issuing equipment and integration with the associated back office software.
You will work closely with the business project manager taking responsibility for delivering the technical work-streams of the project including wireless and Mobile comms, middleware, systems integrations, testing plans, and contactless payment support.
You will be managing a team, including architects, a test lead and testers, a Business analyst, and others as required, and will be responsible for working with others outside of the project both in the business and in the wider IT department.
You will also be managing a Wi-Fi replacement project for 10 local depots mainly focusing on supplier management who will be performing the installation. This will allow the data from the buses to be downloaded each evening to the central systems.
For both projects you will have budgetary control and will ensure that technical governance decisions for IT scope are approved by the CTO.
Key Experience Required
You will be an experienced IT Project Manager with experience in a retail IT environment who has managed large scale EPOS / POS projects with extensive integration to back office systems.
The project and contract duration is set to between nine and twelve months.
