Our client, is a leading M&E Building Services Company that has a strong reputation and dependability for producing high quality products to the construction, manufacturing, education, leisure and retail sectors.
Due to expansion they are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor who will provide support and guidance throughout the lifecycle of a construction project. The purpose of this role is to manages all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. The post holder will minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
Your duties as a Quantity Surveyor include the assistance of:
Project launch & Commercial Reports for new projects
Subcontract enquiries, tender analysis and procurement.
Take offs / Estimating / Tender submission and liaising with design teams & clients.
Site visits and attendance at site meetings.
Maintaining the estimating database to ensure costs remain accurate.
Weekly and monthly project reporting.
Valuations / Applications for Payment.
Sub-contract valuations and payment certificates.
Client & Sub-contract variation negotiation / agreement.
Contract review, negotiation and risk management.
Developing the subcontract database.
The successful Quantity Surveyor will ideally have:
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Team worker with good interpersonal skills
• Organised and methodological with a keen eye for detail
• IT skills e.g. proficient with Microsoft software
• Maths skills / numerically minded
• Budget and financial management skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Industry knowledge and understanding
• A background in mechanical or electrical engineering ideally
• A relevant degree and Chartered RICs status.
