We have an opportunity for an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to join the team at our Middlewich where we manufacture a range of salt products. |
The ideal candidate will provide an engineering service including maintenance, repairs, overhauls and preventive measures on site.
Installation, maintenance, overhaul and repair of instrumentation, electrical and packaging equipment as an individual or part of a team, in a way that minimises downtime and maximises production.
Assist in the diagnosis of failures, identify root causes, suggesting and implementing improvements designed to eliminate recurrences and improve reliability.
Work to high personal standards of safety awareness encouraging others to work accordingly in line with company and statutory requirements
Work as part of a team within a multi-function manufacturing organisation
Comply with all relevant procedures e.g. ICHQ7, food safety requirements and good manufacturing practices, SHE requirements and Company requirements as and when appropriate for the role / area, working within.
Time served with NVQ Level 3/ONC or equivalent qualification in a Control Electrical discipline and formally assessed as capable of working in the full range of dual skilled activities.
BS7671 (17th edition)
Knowledge and experience of a wide range of industrial pneumatic and electrical control equipment / systems.
A working knowledge of PLC€™s and DCS systems.
Good IT skills. Will be expected to work with a MMS and produce basic reports
The ability to understand and act upon the information contained in drawings and specifications independently
Ability to work safely under pressure and not deviate from good working practices
Good team working skills
Working pattern and package:
The work pattern is Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, rotating weekly a pattern of mornings, days and afternoons with on call cover provided on rotation.
The starting package which includes allowances for being on call and the working pattern described above ranges between £33,000 and £36,379 depending on experience. Overtime is paid for planned work and when called in.
Applicants who do not currently fully meet the requirements of the role but who have the right personal attributes and willingness to learn, may be offered training to enable them to achieve the maximum package for this position, over a period of time
