Our client develops, manufactures and sells innovative products and world-class technical solutions for the heating, cooling, separation and fluid handling of products such as oil, chemicals, water, beverages, foodstuffs, starch and pharmaceuticals.
Their products include heat exchanges, high speed separators, fluid/gas filters, decanter centrifuges, pumping systems, tank equipment, reactors and valves. They employ approximately
16,000 staff in more than 50 countries covering over 100 markets.
Their team of Field Service Engineers are on the front line of customer support, carrying out servicing and maintenance of equipment and associated products. The Field Service Engineers must ensure a high quality service to customers at all times.
About the job
This is a home based job attending customer sites across the Midlands/East Midlands on a daily basis, or at times for longer periods, including multiple overnight stays as required. You will also form part of the Alcare team that responds to our customers 24 hour needs, working on an on call shift pattern basis.
Working on high speed rotating equipment and other associated equipment in our customers
process operations. This will mainly cover both mechanical and electrical aspects. Your duties will include:
* Commissioning of new equipment, servicing, inspecting and fault finding of existing equipment.
* Ensuring all equipment used has the correct certification - lifting equipment, electrical equipment and tooling
* Working with the sales team on equipment audits on customer sites to generate new business
* Meeting KPIs for the service team in areas such as submission of job reports and timesheets
Candidates for this role should have completed a recognised apprenticeship, or have reached a minimum level of technical training such as City and Guilds/NVQ/BTEC.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate a string working background in Electrical/Mechanical process maintenance, and ideally have some PLC control experience which may have been gained within a production environment or similar field based role.
Process knowledge in the Brewing, Dairy or similar industry would be beneficial. They would also consider candidates from Water, Sewage, Power Generation, Oil and Gas or a production environment.
You will be self-motivated, details orientated and numerate. You must be able to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, good organisation and planning and enjoy working alone.
Candidates must be able to spend several nights away from home as required and have a good level of physical fitness. A full, clean driving licence is also essential.
The role requires daily use of a laptop and iPhone (provided by the company) and it is essential that candidates are PC literate and comfortable using these technologies
