Manufacturing Engineer

To support our continued success and new development programmes we are currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to work in our smart manufacturing facility.

We design, develop and manufacture our highly technical products in-house and are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer with an electro-mechanical assembly background to identify and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing processes and improve efficiencies. As such, you will undertake a key role in championing lean ideas within the business and work closely with engineering, purchasing and quality.

Your role as Manufacturing Engineer will encompass:

Ensuring clear work instructions, routings and test procedures are available across the product range, identifying ways to streamline or improve efficiencies on existing products

Take a lead role in driving continuous improvement initiatives within production spanning 5S, optimisation of equipment and improvements to assembly and test processes.

Capital equipment projects - Identify and manage improvements in capital plant, including working with sub-contractors to manage, specification, build and installation

Champion Health and Safety improvements within production

In conjunction with Team Leaders, identify training needs within production and organise the delivery of appropriate training

Supplier Development - Supporting Quality / Purchasing in identifying cost effective quality suppliers and working with new and existing suppliers to ensure high standards of supply

Support and play a key role in internal design reviews

To succeed in this varied, technically challenging role you will need to be a qualified engineer, whether apprentice trained or with a formal engineering qualification (HNC/D +) coupled with experience of Manufacturing Engineering / Production Engineering on complex, ideally low / medium volume products. Experience of process optimisation and successfully delivering continuous improvement / lean initiatives within production ideally sought.
