Production Operations Manager

We are looking for a Production Operations Manager with a difference, to join our small but rapidly expanding business. We are passionate about design and produce a range of highly crafted products within our facility in Berkshire. We are a close knit team and doubled in size last year and are likely to do that as minimum this year. As such we need a driven, versatile Production Operations Manager who can be both hands on and strategic and happy to work at all levels to provide the level of outstanding quality and service for which we are known.

We offer a unique opportunity as Production Operations Manager to help shape and structure the operational side of the business moving forward, with ongoing opportunity to continue to develop your career as we expand.

Our products are electrical / electro-mechanical and mostly bespoke so our production of component parts work is carried out at small workshops nationally with final assembly and customisation on site, so you will need to work both with in house and sub-contract manufacturers as well as influence our supply chain.

As Operations Manager your remit will include:

Day to day running of production in-house

Supply Chain management spanning supplier development and ensuring the on time delivery of materials, components and sub-assemblies into production

Ensuring that the quality of products meets and exceeds our strict quality standards

Management of the production schedule, ensuring both our standard and bespoke orders meet customer deadlines

Ensuring out products meet technical specifications

Delivery of New Product development project (NPD / NPI) to time

Driving continuous improvement in both our processes and quality and leading lean / change projects

And assisting with any other elements of the day to day running of our production workshop, working as part of our team environment

To succeed in this role you will need to have proven production and operations management experience and ideally have a background working on low volume electrical / electro-mechanical assembled products. A strong supply chain grounding and the ability to schedule for production is essential. Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement experience and an understanding of lean tools and their application is ideally sought.
