Derisk UK Ltd provide a comprehensive consultancy in health and safety, asbestos, fire risk assessments (FRA's) and quality management. The company is part of the DeGroup of companies offering a full range of services to the construction and demolition industry. The lead asbestos surveyor position sits solely within the asbestos consultancy of Derisk UK Ltd
To carry out UKAS accredited asbestos surveys as described within Derisk UK Ltd inhouse procedures and HSG264 - Asbestos: The Survey Guide. The role will also require assisting project managers in compiling quotations, specifications and risk assessments. Some elements of the role is office based and will include compiling asbestos survey reports on the relevant template, completing sample custody forms for sending samples to an approved laboratory for analysis.
This role requires a level of project management both in planning and undertaking site works including organizing equipment delivery and collection when required, compiling and completing risk assessments for site work and mentoring members of the team in undertaking asbestos inspections inline with Derisk procedures and current legislation. It is expected that the Lead Surveyor is proactive in their own learning and ensuring that they fully understand the in house procedures and paperwork. Demonstrate good time keeping, ensuring that deadlines are met and excellent communications skills. Relevant external training courses will be provided as and when necessary, including in-house refresher training.

Qualifications and Skills
BOHS P402 Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings or RSPH Certificate in Asbestos Surveying GCSE C and above or equivalent in: English Language and Mathematics 6 Months experience within the asbestos surveying industry Good computers skills and a knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Clean driving license may include up to 3 points for speeding Strong communication skills
