The primary responsibilities of the Accounting Supervisor include:
Prepare monthly financial statements and disclosure reporting for consolidation at the OTS level.
Coordinate participation and prepare the weekly and monthly financial and key performance metric update to management.
Coordinates monthly budget to actual and forecast review.
Ensures accounting is in accordance with company policy and GAAP.
Develops, coordinates and formulates the justification of all bid cost proposals for performance contracts, and final pricing of all contracts.
Provides support for annual review and update of cost standards.
Provides information by reporting and interpreting operating results to all levels of management. This includes the formulation of accounting policies and the direction of preparation of financial statements and operating data reports.
Interprets, reviews, and implements all financial aspects and requirements of government contracts, purchase orders and other documents.
Prepare annual incurred cost submissions and other required government accounting documentation.
Reviews, communicates, and finalizes formulation of business plans and departmental budgets. Compares, contrasts and provides the necessary information for the development of a budget. Establishes a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business objectives.
Provides financial and managerial guidance to management.
Coordinates government and internal/external audit requirements.
Directs and reviews physical inventories as appropriate.
Coaches, motivates, and develops direct reports.
Assumes other special activities and responsibilities as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent plus 8-10 years of related experience, preferably in manufacturing. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
Self directed, organized, with attention to detail.
Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Works with integrity in all aspects of work, meets commitments, and works collaboratively with various functional groups.
Three (3) years governmental accounting experience and a broad exposure to general and cost accounting, preferably in manufacturing environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, Microsoft Access. PeopleSoft and Intuitive experience a plus.
