The Services team within Bombardier in North America, numbering over 1,700 professionals through 12 current contracts, is responsible for third party Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services for commuter and light rail transit systems, overhaul and refurbishment of passenger rail cars, material solutions (spare parts, engineering and innovative long term material supply agreements) and technology solutions (creating and implementing innovative products and technologies for our transit clients).

For our growing operations and upcoming projects in Florida and the surrounding area, we are currently looking for a Labor Relations Manager.

Reporting to the HR Regional Manager, you will support the rail facility in manpower planning/recruitment, labor and employee relations, pension and benefit administration, organizational development, succession planning, recruitment, compensation administration, performance management, and shared services in support of company strategic business objectives.

In your role as Labor Relations Manager, you will:

  • Review and coordinate the company employment, with a strong emphasis on employee and labor relations;
  • Coordinate the Performance Management Process;
  • Oversee employment activities, assuring that properly qualified employees are recruited and hired;
  • Collaborate with other Bombardier sites across North America on special projects;
  • Maintain Drug and Alcohol Program, pre-employment and post offer testing;
  • Oversee all ISO audit, insures compliance to Bombardier Transportation Human Resources Manual and site policies/Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations;
  • Ensure the development and implementation of training programs which support company business objectives;
You will have the opportunity to work with the HR Manager and Director to partner with key leaders in the organization to align HR practices with current and future business needs.

As our ideal candidate:

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or the equivalent;
  • You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in Labor Relations;
  • You have experience in the Rail industry, either Passenger, Commuter or Freight operations;
  • You have excellent English communications skills (written and spoken);
  • Your knowledge of the Railway Labor Act is important.
