About the Business Line
We provide professional services in areas such as aviation, transit, freight rail, highways and bridges, planning, and ports and marine. Our global network of top-tier specialists delivers comprehensive services over the full life cycle of a project to benefit clients in government and private industries.
AECOM in Ireland currently employs over 600 professionals in various sectors in the Republic and Northern Ireland, with over 200 working on Transport projects. The AECOM office in Dublin has an established track record of successfully delivering transportation projects throughout Ireland, as well as internationally, in both the urban and rural environment. Due to increased work load we are searching for a Consultant to join our Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering Teams.
The Transport Planning team evaluates and plans future transport schemes, forecasts demand and revenue, develops and evaluates transport policy, provides advisory services to various governmental agencies, develops business cases, as well as looking at the relationships between spatial planning and transport. Our Traffic Engineering team is responsible for the design and implementation of urban traffic engineering schemes and more recently sustainable transport schemes of national significance (e.g. Dublin to Galway Greenway). The combined team, which currently stands at more than 30 professionals, is involved in a number of high profile projects with a variety of clients throughout the country and is the largest such team operating in the Republic of Ireland at present.
Our clients are primarily from the public sector and include the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Transport Infrastructure Ireland, National Transport Authority, Irish Rail, numerous Local Councils and European Commission amongst many others.
To excel in this role you will ideally come from an analytical background, such as mathematics, economics, geography, or engineering and will have gained an appropriate level of experience in the transport planning sector. We value individuals with a combination of analytical and communication skills, and a creative and enthusiastic approach to problem solving. We are seeking an individual with an in depth appreciation of their chosen area with good knowledge of wider transport planning issues. The position will be based in our state of the art offices in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin overlooking the sea and in close proximity to the DART Station and at the heart of this rejuvenating town centre.
